The classic Monarch 5 12×42 binoculars are replaced by the Nikon Monarch M5 12×42 Binoculars, which provide some minor enhancements. These include enhanced rubber armoring for increased grip and shock resistance, as well as an additional 5 feet of field of vision at 1000 yards. For the best possible light throughput and color fidelity, the Monarch M5 12×42 employs phase- and multi-layer dielectric-coated prisms, completely multi-coated lenses, and ED glass in its optical design. Every Monarch M5 binocular is nitrogen-purged and waterproof.
